Chrisman Road
Tracy, CA 95376
PSI Project No. 582-6I003 f
T
889-6I117
Dear Ms. Lagorio:
It
r
This letter is written in response to your request (dated 11May 21, 1996) for additional
documentation and additional site work at the above-referenced site.
!
The manifest for the transport of the 500 gallon underground storage tank formerly
located at the site and the certificate of destruction for this tank are attached. As indicated
in the Underground Storage Tank Removal report (issued by PSI and dated January 5,
1995), the tank was empty when removed and no rinsate was generated.
Suburban Propane has again hired PSI as the consultant for this project. To attain site
closure, PSI proposes to destroy the three on-site monitoring wells through pressure-
grouting. Gregg Drilling & Testing, Inc., Martinez, CA, will be subcontracted to perform
this task. Cement/bentonite grout (Portland cement mixed with 5% bentonite) will be
tremied into each well under pressure supplied by an air compressor fitted with a specially
designed cap. This cap will force the grout into the surrounding formation while also
filling the well casing. The wells will be pressure-grouted to within one foot of the ground
surface. The remaining well casing will be cut out and the surface traffic boxes will be I
removed with a jack hammer. The resultant space will be ;filled with concrete and leveled
at ground surface. PSI understands that this activity is to occur under permit and
inspection of the PHS/EHD. Attached please find the completed permit application and
the $60 permit fee.
Upon completion of the well destruction, PSI understands that a closure letter will be
issued for this site.
Infonwtion 7o Build On
i
PSI.2280 Bates Avenue,Suite D•Concord,CA 94520•Phone 510/685-2488•Fax 510/685-2991
