05/29/96 15:56 FAX 916 387 0802 DAMES & MOORS Z0O3
Presented below is breakdown of the scope of work by subtask. The subtasks are presented on a per
day basis. Please tote that the time estimates are approximate and will be dcpendent on Held conditions.
Day I vI vi I9' °
1, The existing depth of approximately 4I7 feet will be verified by tagging bottom. The depth will be
Memoramdutn by D
rmomitored prior D and following each activity, and the observations recorded on the Dally Field
ames & Moore.
2_ The caamg will be wire brushed by BUR to remove scale.
3. A footing or floor for grouting will be placed at the existing total depth of the well by Beylik. The
floor will be placed by trying either a grout basket or pea gravel to approximately 412 feet below
gfound surface(bgs). followed by a sand bridge to approximately 410 feet. Bentonite pellets will be
available for use if there is difficulty in establishing a floor. ' 11
4. Using a tremae supplied by Beylik drd1mg,grout will be pumped by Halliburton auto the first lift from
bel m be feet. The grout volume will be calculated to ensure that the grout sets a minimum of 5 feet
below the lowermost interval to be perforated. which is from 362 to 370 feet bgs. The purpose of this
lift is to provide a plug as a secure base for grouting the remaining two lifts A -plug back spot
cemertt"hay been designed by Halliburton specifically for this purpose on this project. It consists of
a sant/and cement mix of 50 pounds of sand per sack of Halliburton Premium Cement, with 2 Percent
calcium chloride added as an accelerator. The design density of this grout is 17.1 pouts per gallon
actual density will be measured using struck-mounted densimeter and documented int the Daily
The
Field Memorandum. The grout will be tagged after setting, and additional grout added as
This grout Plug will be allowed to set overnight. ry
5. The second, or middle lift from 375 feet to 150 feet bgs will be grouted using a 14.2 pounds-per-
gallon mix designed by Hallibunom This mix will consist of a 50150 mix of Pomtix A and Premium
Cement with two Percent gel. A retardant will be added in an amount specifiW
by Halliburton to
ty time. The grout will be placed using a tremie supplied by Beylik
allow for a 5 to 6 lour workabili 3 3 y
and pumping truck Provided by Hali tburion. The density of this grout as placed will be measured and
noted in the field records. In the event groundwater is displaced to the surface, this water will be l /
retained by BeYlik and transported to the lined evaporation ponds located on site. The grout volume
will be calculated based on the casing volume plus 30 percetm to allow for grout taken up into the
annular space and formation. In the event additional grout beyondthe calculated amount is required,
additional material can be supplied by Halliburton within 4 hours. 1_cv
