f
volatile organic compounds?] If this issue of PCE, TCE and other contaminants residing in
the finer-grained sediments above the Upper Horizon is not to be addressed during the
remedial design (RD) phase of Operable Unit (OU) No. 1 by DDRW-Tracy and contractors,
this issue as well as the issues of other contaminants such as pesticides and metals in the
finer-grained materials must be addressed during the comprehensive remedial
investigation/feasibility study (RI/FS) for DDRW-Tracy.
2. Also, page 1 of Section 1.0.0.1 states that the Interim Remedial Measure (IRM) system was
placed in "full-scale operation in November of 1992." This implies that the units were
operating as intended; this is an incorrect implication. This issue should be clarified in the
text.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment on this report. If you have any questions, please
contact me at (415) 744-2392.
Sincerely,
r 7
Michael Work
Federal Facilities Cleanup Office (H-9)
Hazardous Waste Management Division
cc: (See Distribution List)
2
