UNITED STATES ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY
A Region 9 -,; i ; ^: 0
75 Hawthorne Street
San Francisco CA 94105-3901
October 12, 1993
Marshall Cloud
Environmental Protection Office, DDRW-Tracy
P.O. Box 960001
Stockton, CA 95296-0250
RE: Revised RD/RA Schedule for DDRW-Tracy OU-1
Dear Marshall,
Thank you for the revised RD/RA schedule for OU-1, received in our office on
October 1, 1993. EPA was expecting an additional informal draft transmittal (per
conversation with staff at COE) prior to formal submittal. Such an approach would have
minimized EPA's formal comments (attached).
Following the reissuance of a proposed schedule, Section 8.2 of the Federal Facility
Agreement (FFA) requires that the parties "meet as necessary to discuss and finalize the
proposed deadlines." Further, the FFA provides 30 days (i.e., by November 1, 1993, in this
case) for finalization to occur. EPA recommends communication take place to help assure
that the revised schedule represents consensus. EPA recommends that the revised schedule be
submitted by October 22, 1993.
Please contact me at (415) 744-2392 to discuss our comments.
Sincerely,
Michael Work
Federal Enforcement Section I (H-9-1)
Office of Superfund
Attachment
cc: (See Attached List)
