Draft Remedial Design "Work Plan" <br /> Please note that the FFA requires a deadline for a draft remedial design (not a draft <br /> remedial design work plan). <br /> Please delete the words "work plan" after remedial design. <br /> 2. Full-Scale Remedial Activity <br /> Based on the text in footnote No. 2, July 4, 1996 is the deadline for full-scale <br /> remedial activity. In order for DDRW-Tracy to satisfy the requirements of Appendix <br /> B to the FFA (i.e., the requirement of schedules for completion of construction and <br /> commencement dates for remedial action) and NCP Section 300.435(a) [that "The <br /> remedial design/remedial action (RD/RA) stage includes the development of the actual <br /> design of the selected remedy and implementation of the remedy through <br /> construction."] this July 4, 1996 date should be placed in the column entitled <br /> "Deadline" of the RD/RA schedule. <br /> 3. Draft and Draft Final RD/RA Work Plan <br /> a. Footnote No. 1: <br /> It would be helpful if the text in this footnote elaborated on the rationale employed to <br /> reduce the number of primary documents to one (i.e., to minimize document review as <br /> well as to combine key contracting documents together with an aim to reduce overall <br /> time frames). Further, in order to clarify the content of the remedial action work plan <br /> (versus the construction specifications and drawing) and to minimize the potential for <br /> future misunderstandings, please modify footnote No. 1 as follows: <br /> "This design document will include the following work plans for review in <br /> order to keep key contracting documents together while minimizing the number <br /> of documents for submission and review: <br /> Site-Specific Health/Safety Plan, Field Sampling Plan, Construction <br /> EPA October 12, 1993 1/2 <br />
