PHS/EHD commends DDRW-Tracy for complying
with the requests from the various regulatory agencies that bottled water be provided to both
residences.
In the PHS/EHD letter dated November 20, 1991, a well survey within a mile radius and
sampling of identified wells along Banta Road was recommended. In addition it was advised
that a community awareness forum be scheduled to inform the community of the off-site
activities.
We are aware that California Regional Water Quality Control Board plans to conduct a
"mini" well survey of the wells at the eastern end of the DDRW-Tracy site to help determine
the source(s) of particular volatile organic compound ground water contaminants; however
we are concerned that to date DDRW-Tracy has not conducted the well survey nor held a
community awareness forum. Members of the community have contacted PHS/EHD staff
regarding the status of the DDRW-Tracy investigation and inquired about the scheduling of
a public meeting. DDRW-Tracy should ensure the public is kept informed of the results of
their contaminant investigation. Please notify PHS/EHD when you plan to conduct the
public awareness forum.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health(are xmcn
