Tracie Billington, P.E.
August 14, 1992
Page Six
The Department cautions DDRW Tracy not to use estimates to
guide their remedial measures. The Department will evaluate
the success of remedial measures based on their ability to
meet treatment goals (i.e. established aquifer cleanup goals
or reductions in the mass quantity) .
14) Pages 3-5 and 3-6 outline previous and current modeling of
the ground water at DDRW Tracy.
The Department will require hard monitoring data to support
any conclusions based on models.
15) Page 3-14 section 3 . 3 . 1. 1. 6 further outlines the conceptual
design of the performance monitoring program.
The Department again iterates its concern over separate
monitoring programs. We would prefer to have one
comprehensive monitoring program for -the entire site. The -
performance monitoring for the ground water treatment can be
incorporated into it.
Jim Pinasco
Waste Management Engineer
