Costs for their review and inspection
are recovered through a Defense-State Memorandum of Agreement.
As you are aware the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors
adopted Resolution 90-620 endorsing a policy of full recovery of
Environmental Health costs. Environmental Health Services fees
were adjusted which included fees for consultation, review, and
inspection.
On November 8 , 1991, our agency was notified by RWQCB that
Trichloroethylene and Carbon Tetrachloride had been detected in
water samples from two off-site domestic drinking water wells
northeast (downgradient) of DDRW-Tracy. Our agency filed the
appropriate public notification of a hazardous waste discharge
required by the California Health and Safety Code.
Due to our concern with the migration of contaminants off-site
from DDRW-Tracy our staff attended a meeting at DDRW-Tracy with
the various regulatory agencies on November 14 , 1991. As a
follow-up to ensure the health of San Joaquin County residents
would be protected our staff made personal contact with the
residents whose wells had evidenced contamination. In addition
the EHD conducted a survey of other wells that should be tested
for contamination, maintained contact with the various regulatory
agencies and the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors, and
provided recommendations to DDRW-Tracy.
A Division of San Joaquin Counry Heath Care Semces (-)
