Box 960001 <br /> Stockton, CA 95296-2050 <br /> DRAFT WORK PLAN FOR WELL EVALUATION AND ABANDONMENT, DEFENSE DISTRIBUTION REGION <br /> WEST (DDRW) , TRACY, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> We have reviewed the Draft Work Plan for Well Evaluation and Abandonment prepared <br /> by Woodward-Clyde and submitted on 17 October 1991 for DDRW, Tracy. Enclosed are <br /> our detailed comments and concerns with the Work Plan. <br /> As with previous reports, Woodward-Clyde has summarized the data in tables and <br /> figures which are very useful and help to expedite the review process. However, <br /> the abandonment proposals for the two supply wells, Wells 1 and 2, appear to be <br /> inadequate. More information on the mills knife intervals, abandonment <br /> procedures and slurry design are needed. The abandonment plan for LM-60, as well <br /> as the proposals for sampling and analyses, appear to be excessive. Therefore, <br /> the Final Work Plan should address all of our concerns. <br /> We would like to discuss this Draft Work Plan to resolve our concerns with the <br /> proposals. We recommend that the Draft Work Plan be discussed with the other <br /> regulatory agencies at the next Project Manager's Meeting.
