The memorandum
encompass two documents: 1) the RI/FS Engineering Report
' produced by Woodward Clyde Consultants and 2) the follow on
statement of work (SOW) .
Our goals for this memorandum are not only to finalize
t comments for Woodward Clyde Consultants Engineering Report and
SOW, but more importantly to provide guidance for future RI/FS
activities. We have two primary recommendations for a second
phase RI/FS. First, expansion of the ground water treatment
system and refinement of contamination plume boundaries must
1 remain a priority. Secondly, the investigation of other
potential hazardous waste sites should be based on available
data. We feel broad exploratory investigations would be a
waste of valuable resources.
We look forward to working with you in bringing the RI/FS
at DDRW Tracy to a successful conclusion. Should you have any
questions regarding our comments, you may contact Jim Pinasco
of my staff at (916) 855-7874 .
Sincerely,
_ c
David Wang, , Chief
Federal Facilities Unit
Site Mitigation Branch
cc: See next page.
