The reports
demonstrate that the ground water treatment plant meets the
established operational and discharge requirements. Therefore
full scale operations should proceed.
We are concerned that the performance of injection well IW-2
is not comparable to the other injection wells. A review of the
construction details of this well should be conducted in order to
determine the cause and if it can be corrected.
Furthermore, the Department wishes to express its concern
regarding the management of technical data. Separate contracts
have been implemented to manage reporting procedures for the
ground water treatment system and the depot wide Remedial
Investigation/Feasibility Study (RI/FS) . The use of separate
contracts has hindered the integration of these data sets into
one concise technical presentation. The Department recommends
integration of the two programs or their data sets to alleviate
the confusing nature in which data is currently presented.
