This tank is one <br /> of the units permitted by the State of California, Department of <br /> Health Services (DOHS) on September 30, 1983 . The closure plan <br /> for this unit, within the Part B permit application approved by <br /> DOHS, is inadequate due to subsequent changes in law and <br /> regulations affecting underground tanks. Subsequently, a <br /> revision is necessary. The DOHS permit, with the Environmental <br /> Protection Agency' s (EPA) approval, will soon be revised to <br /> include the following modifications; deletion of the underground <br /> tank as an operating unit, incorporation of the attached closure <br /> plan, and other modifications necessary to conform with our <br /> present model permit. <br /> San Joaquin Local Health District has issued a permit to DDT for <br /> the closure of this underground tank. They will also be present <br /> during the removal of the tank and the soil sampling procedures. <br /> A timely review of this revised closure plan would be very much <br /> appreciated. With EPA' s approval of this document, the DOHS <br /> would then draft a revised hazardous waste facility permit, a <br />
