Defense Depot Tracy Workplan -2_ <br /> 19 October 1987 <br /> 4. DDT should take immediate steps to exercise options 7, 8, and 11 <br /> of the contract governing the RI/FS. These options allow for <br /> additional monitoring well installation and sampling. <br /> Immediately following the installation and sampling of wells <br /> LM53-LM62 deficiencies in plume characterization should be <br /> noted, a workplan to address those deficiencies should be <br /> prepared, and the additional well installation should be <br /> scheduled. The last day to exercise those options is 15 <br /> February 1988. The entire Remedial Investigation should be <br /> completed when work authorized by this contract is completed. <br /> It will not be done to the Board and Department's satisfaction <br /> if the extent of contamination is not fully defined. <br /> 5. Several of the monitoring wells have been sampled only once. It <br /> appears that further sampling of wells depends on whether or not <br /> options 2 and 3 of the present contract are exercised. DDT <br /> should take steps to exercise these options so that all wells <br /> can be sampled at least one more time. Characterizing the <br /> contamination in these wells based on one sample result will <br /> result in faulty conclusions. Care should be taken to ensure <br /> that all wells are sampled at one point in time to allow proper <br /> correlation of data, and proper development of the proposed <br /> model. <br />
