Box 960001 <br /> Stockton, CA 95296 <br /> Re: Response to Comments on the Proposed Decision Logic for Extraction Well <br /> Shutdown, DDJC-Sharpe and DDJC-Tracy,November 2003 <br /> Dear Mr. Benson and Mr. Cloud: <br /> The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency(EPA) Region 9 has received the responses to <br /> U.S. EPA comments on the Proposed Decision Logic for Extraction Well Shutdown <br /> Memorandum, DDJC-Sharpe and DDJC-Tracy, dated November 26, 2003. The responses <br /> appear to address the comments with the exception of the response to General Comment 1. <br /> The response to General Comment 1 does not fully address the comment and the action to <br /> be taken is unclear. The original comment requested objective criteria for evaluation of each <br /> decision be provided, but the response only addressed the example given in the comment rather <br /> than the larger issue. In addition, the comment requested that all of the terminology used in the <br /> decision tree be defined but the response did not indicate whether these definitions would be <br /> provided. As a result, it is unclear if the action code "A" (i.e., accepted/concur)means that <br /> definitions of all terminology and objective criteria for each decision will be provided. Please <br /> revise the response to clarify the actions that will be taken.
