I have also enclosed check number
03106 for$323, which covers the$89 application fee and three hours of plan review time.
The wells to be abandoned include 3 agricultural wells in the Tracy Annex and 11 monitoring
wells. The activities planned during the well abandonment at DDRW-Tracy include destruction
of the well sheds and removal of the pumps, geophysically logging the 3 agricultural wells, and
sealing the wells as described in the enclosed work plan. Destruction operations are currently
scheduled to begin on August 1, 1994, with abandonment occurring in early September.
Following completion of the geophysical logs, exact drilling specifications for the agricultural
wells will be discussed further during a meeting between Montgomery Watson, DDRW-Tracy,
USEPA, CVRWQCB, DTSC, and the Huntsville Corps of Engineers. A final work plan will be
submitted following that meeting.
The abandonment will be performed by Layne-Western Drilling and Halliburton Cementing
Services. The drilling contractor has told me that their license and insurance information is
currently on file with San Joaquin County.
Destruction operations are currently scheduled to begin on August 1, 1994, with abandonment
occurring in early September. I will be Field Team Leader for the project.
