4. Table B-2, Well LM025AUA
Table B-2 states that well LM025AUA is "not within 100 feet of an
extraction well. " As a result, per the Sampling Frequency Decision Flow
Chart (Figure 2-1) , the sampling frequency for this well was determined
to be annual sampling. However the coordinates of LM025AUA in the
Annual Monitoring Report, Table 2.5-1, indicate the well is 9 feet from
extraction well EW037AU. Thus, the statement cited above in Table B-2
is incorrect. Per the Sampling Frequency Decision Flow Chart (Figure 2-
1) , the sampling frequency for this well should be semiannually.
5. Table B-2, Wells LM058AU, LM066A, and LM093AU
Table B-2 indicates that wells LM025AUA, LM066A, and LM093AU are "not
within 100 feet of an extraction well. " However, the coordinates in the
Annual Monitoring Report, Table 2.5-1, indicate that LM025AUA is 80 feet
from EW034AU, that LM066A is 41 feet from EW021A, and that IM093AUA is
10 feet from EW036AU. Please revise Table B-2 accordingly and reassess
the sample frequency for these wells.
6. Table B-2, Well LM070C
Table B-2 indicates the nearest extraction well to LM070C is EW013C.
However, the nearest extraction well, as shown on Figure 3-2A, appears
to be EW031C, located approximately 900 feet to the west. However,
another well, TW013C, is located immediately adjacent to LM070C, as
shown on Figure 3-2A, but it is not clear if this is an extraction well.
Please clarify which extraction well is closest to LM070C.
7. Table B-2, Well LM095AU
Analyses for VOCs and SVOCs should be included in. the analyses for
samples from LM095AU to be consistent with ROD, Table 9-2.
8. Table B-2, Well LM097AU
Please summarize the rationale in Table B-2 for dropping semiannual
analyses for simazine and dioxins/furans that were performed in 1998.
The Site-Wide Comprehensive ROD, Section 9.7.4 (SWMU 8) , does not
specify criteria for discontinuing these analyses, and Table 9-2 of the
ROD identifies groundwater monitoring for these soil contaminants.
9. Table B-2, Well LM163A
Please include the sampling frequency rationale for LM163A in Table B-2 .
10. Table B-2, Wells LM166AU and LM167AU
Dioxins/furans have been dropped from the analyses for 1999, following
ROD criterion (Site-Wide Comprehensive ROD, Sections 9.7.3 .6 and
9.7.3 .8) of at least two consecutive semiannual samples, which were
analyzed in 1998. However, please consider that the five-year review
3
