Equipment Decontamination Procedures _ On the basis of historic and current land use and existing groundwater mo itoring datla;no' UE T hazardous constituents are expected at the drilling locations.The followin steps therefore represent the minimum decontamination procedures to be employed. • All equipment used for constructing the well must be free of contamination and cleaned to prevent potential cross contamination.Equipment,tools,materials,etc.will be decontaminated prior to the beginning of the abandonment work- Some orkSome form of steam cleaning or high-pressure water-spraying tect nique combined with a low-suds non-phosphate detergent should be employed followed I y rinsing with potable water.When adjacent to land application areas,the rinseate and drill cuttings should be spread on the ground at the site.When located in the street,the rir seate and drill cuttings should be placed within a drum.Discharge to stormwater drains o surface water features is not acceptable. I.S. Health and Safety Plan No hazardous constituents or contamination are expected at the project si a locations,and all work should be carried out in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and guidelines.All personnel working at the site during well abandonment activities should be familiar with these regulations and guidelines. The primary physical hazards are associated with the use of the drilling rig and supporting vehicles.
