The Order required the Dischargerto submit a Groundwater alinity Mitigation Plan for <br /> Land Application Area LAS-2. The plan was to include a proposal to delineate, and remediate, <br /> the extent of groundwater contamination caused by the discharge of wastewater. Additionally, if <br /> the Discharger wished to destroy wells KMW-1 and KMW-3, then the workplan was to include a <br /> proposal for replacing these monitoring wells such that the Discharger can monitor the <br /> effectiveness of the Groundwater Salinity Mitigation Plan. <br /> Monitoring Well Abandonment and Installation Workplan: <br /> Staff has reviewed the 30 September 2015 Monitoring WellAbandonm nt and Installation <br /> Workplan(Workplan). The workplan was prepared by HydroFocus Inc and submitted on behalf <br /> of the City of Lathrop. The workplan proposes to abandon existing grOL ndwater monitoring wells <br /> K1VW-1 and KMW-3 in accordance with San Joaquin County well destruction standards. <br /> Additionally, the workplan proposes to install groundwater wells KMW-110 and KMW-11 <br /> immediately adjacent to Land Application Areas LAS-1 and LAS-2 to monitor the effectiveness <br /> of the City's corrective action plan <br /> The workplan is approved with the following condition: <br /> Proposed Groundwater Monitoring Well KMW-11 shall be relocated east, such that wells <br /> KMW-10 and KMW-11 are spaced approximately 500 to 800 fe at apart along the down <br /> gradient western boundary of Land Application Area LAS-2. <br /> By 15 January 2016, the Discharger shall submit a monitoring well ab ndonment and <br /> installation report documenting the destruction on groundwater monito ing wells KMW-1 and <br /> KMW-3, and the installation of monitoring wells KMW-10 and KMW-11 The report shall include <br /> the information listed in the enclosure to this letter, which is titled, Requirements for Monitoring <br /> KARL E.
