City of Lathrop 8617.000.000
Mossdale Landing Community Park, Monitoring Well Replacement May 5, 2009
SUMMARY OF MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION Page 3
for 30 minutes prior to sealing the remainder of the borehole with neat cement. The well casing
was extended to just below the ground surface and a flush mounted traffic rated vault box with a
lid was installed at the surface. Information regarding specific monitoring well construction is
summarized on the attached installation log.
A monitoring well installation permit was obtained and well construction activities were
conducted in accordance with San Joaquin County requirements. A copy of the well permit is
attached.
At least 48 hours after completion of the well installation we developed the well to maximize the
hydraulic connection between the well and the surrounding aquifer material. The well was
purged using a 12-volt pump while monitoring stabilization of groundwater parameters
(temperature, pH and electrical conductivity). Purging continued until flowing water was
visually clear and at least seven well volumes had been purged from the well. Purge water was
discharged to land onsite. A copy of the well development record, including quantity of water
pumped, is attached.
A licensed land surveyor was retained to establish horizontal coordinates and elevation data for the
new monitoring well in accordance with Section 5.0 of the Master Well Work Plan. The survey
results are included on the Site Plan(Figure 2).
It is our understanding that this new well will be monitored by HydroFocus Inc. as part of the
City of Lathrop's ongoing regional groundwater analysis.
If you have any questions regarding any portion of this report, please call and we will be glad to
discuss them with you.
Very truly yours,
ENGEO Incorpora oF GRAA W o0`s
8436
Exp.xp.3/311/2/2
010
Crawford, PG OrfF CAF Shawn Munger, CHG
zc/sm/dtwell
cc: Mr. Bruce Myers,Pacific Union Homes (e-mail only)
Mr.John Fio,HydroFocus Inc.
