E <br /> the SWRCB Cleanup Fund Letter of Committment, you must make application to <br /> the State of California water Resources Control Board's (SWRCB) "Petroleum <br /> Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund" (Fund) . An application package for the <br /> i Fund has been provided. <br /> The Fund was created pursuant to Chapter 6.75 of ',lthe California Health and <br /> Safety Code to help eligible owners and operators,, of .petroleum underground <br /> storage tanks to: <br /> 1. Meet federal requirements to demonstrate financial responsibility; <br /> 2. Obtain reimbursement for costs of the cleanup of unauthorized <br /> releases of petroleum from USTs; and ,, <br /> 3. Obtain reimbursement for damages awarded to third parties who are <br /> injured by petroleum releases. <br /> The maximum amount available from the Fund is $990,000 per occurrence. <br /> Claimants are responsible for the first $10,000 of eligible costs. <br /> F Applications must be submitted to the SWRCB Clean Up Fund by March 31, 1994 to.. <br /> undergo eligibility ranking for funding in the 1994-95 state fiscal budget <br /> i year. All subsurface investigations and remedial actions must be per <br /> under a workplan approved by PHS/EHD. <br /> The Fund does not cover the costs incurred for the removal, repair, retrofit, <br /> or installation of USTs.
