Church St., Stockton, CA <br /> Project No. 780013.01 <br /> Dear Ms. Violett: <br /> The enclosed report summarizes soil sampling and analytical results associated with the closure <br /> in place of two underground fuel storage vaults and one fuel storage sump at the subject site. <br /> The tanks were closed in place on May 26, 1994 by Pan Pacific Environmental Services under <br /> the supervision of RESNA Industries Inc. (RESNA) personnel. On May 23, preparatory to <br /> 5 �r PSP"`7 closing the underground structures, RESNA secured all underground pipelines associated with <br /> 6 oj' 001 `the vaults and sump by filling the exposed ends with concrete and attaching expanding plugs with <br /> �y� tialLcold weld adhesive. The vaults, overlying excavation and sump were abandoned by backfilling <br /> "45,c0• to grade with controlled density fill slurry. Decontaminated concrete rubble, resulting from <br /> 0ito 4- °,% previous vault opening work was dumped into the vaults concurrent with backfilling. Line <br /> � - abandonment and vault/sump filling was conducted under the supervision and regulatory <br /> guidance of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division <br /> (PHS/EHD). <br /> On November 1st and 2nd, 1993 a total of six soil samples were collected from native soil <br /> beneath the vaults and sump. No groundwater was encountered during field activities. All <br /> sampling was performed under the supervision and regulatory guidance of PHS/EHD. Sample <br /> locations are shown on,Figure 2 of the enclosed report. <br /> Soil samples were collected using brass liners following strict quality control protocols. The <br /> brass rings used for soil sample collected were sealed with Teflon tape, plastic end caps, and <br /> placed immediately on ice. All samples were transported under chain-of-custody to State- <br /> 780013\REPORTS\TPR-0794 <br />
