Church Street
Stockton, CA
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) has
reviewed the"Additional Closure Information" dated September 30, 1999, prepared by Harding
Lawson Associates and is preparing documents to request concurrence from the Central Valley
Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB)for a "no further action required"
determination for this site. As part of the documentation/justification for this determination a
survey of all wells within 2000 feet of the site must be completed.
A survey of all wells within a 2000 feet radius of the site has not been performed to date.
PHS/EHD is aware that there are several production wells located on site. Please submit a
survey that provides the addresses and locations on a map of all wells, including the on-site
production wells, within 2000 radial feet of this site. Also provide well logs and any other
construction details of the wells identified in the survey. Contact the Department of Water
Resources and municipal water suppliers, as well as perform a physical search of the area to
identify all wells within 2000 radial feet. Submit the survey and information discussed above as
soon as possible so that all information to support the"no further action required"determination
has been provided.
Please be advised that the evaluation of"no further action required" applies only to the 210,000
gallon#6 Fuel Oil underground storage tank (UST)and the sump and two USTs that were in the
courtyard. The USTs that contained solvents in the northwest portion of the site are under the
oversight of the CVRWQCB. Further investigation of these USTs was requested by the
CVRWQCB in February 1998 and still has not occurred.
If you have any questions contact me at(209)468-3449.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
_1 A_t
Margaret Lagorio, Supervising REHS
Site Mitigation Unit
c: CVRWQCB- Marty Hartzell
Harding Lawson Asso. - Gary Haeck
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
