Based on the above, the results indicate that although soil <br /> contamination exists , it is limited in degree and is not a <br /> probable threat to groundwater. Additionally, the levels of <br /> contamination found and the condition of the tanks indicate that <br /> there were not substantial leaks in the tanks. The contamination <br /> found was probably due to spillage or pin—hole leaks. <br /> AEMC recommends backfilling the excavations with excavated soils. <br /> Clean, imported backfill will be used to bring the excavations to <br /> grade . No further excavation or sampling is recommended. <br /> 6 <br />
