i <br /> SITE INVESTIGATION WORK PLAN <br /> 800 WEST CHURCH STREET <br /> STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br /> 2.0 SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The Site is located in area of mixed residential, commercial and industrial use in Stockton, <br /> California. The Site is bounded by: South Orange and Garfield Streets to the west; McDougall <br /> Slough and Interstate 5 to the east; Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railroad to the south; and <br /> West Church Street to the north (Figure 1-1). .Site features include: a large single-story building <br /> complex and smaller buildings west and south of the complex. <br /> 2.1 GEOLOGIC AND HYDROGEOLOGIC SETTING <br /> The Site is located in the San Joaquin Valley, the southern portion of the Great Valley <br /> Geomorphic Province of California. Sediments within the San Joaquin Valley range in thickness <br /> from thin veneers along valley margins to greater than 20,000 feet in the south central valley. <br /> Sediments in the Great Valley Geomorphic Province are derived from both marine and <br /> continental sources, ranging in age from Jurassic to Recent (Olmsted and Davis, 1961). During <br /> soil sampling in 2006; sediments at the Site were observed to be interbedded sands, silts and <br /> clays (MACTEC, 2006). Groundwater has been encountered in borings advanced at the Site <br /> between approximately 15-feet and 20-feet below ground surface. <br /> it <br /> 5111 <br />
