V:est Clay Properties w Page 2
639 West Clay Street December 19, 2011
Stockton, California 95206
Since the initial start up of the ozone system in November 2006, AGE has consistently
recommended ozone injection in the former UST No. 3 area, this in spite of the directive from
the EHD to submit a feasibility study comparing several remedial technologies. You are now
directed to submit the feasibility study and a recommendation as to the preferred remedial
technology to this department by 03 February 2012.
AGE has proposed a revised sampling schedule to the EHD by email dated 08 December
2011. Upon reviewing current groundwater analytical results the EHD directs that the
following sampling schedule be implemented, effective immediately:
• Semi-annually collect groundwater from MW-1, MW-2, MW-8B, MW-27 and MW-29
and analyze the samples for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes
(BTEX), methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE), tertiary-
amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE),
1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) and 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB);
• Semi-annually collect groundwater samples from MW-9, MW-11 B, and MW-28 and
only analyze the samples for MTBE;
• Semi-annually collect groundwater samples from MW-14B and analyze the samples
for MTBE and 1,2-DCA:
• Discontinue collecting depth-to-groundwater and total depth measurements for
monitoring wells MW-16 through MW-24;
• Annually collect total depth measurements for MW-1 through MW-5, MW-7 through
MW-14A/B, MW-25 through MW-29, EW-1 and EW-2,-
Discontinue
W-2;Discontinue sampling MW-3, MW-4, MW-5, MW-7, MW-8A, Myk'B, MW-11A,
MW-12A, MW-12B, MW-13A, MW-1313, MW-14A, MW-16 through MW-26;
• Annually collect groundwater from EW-1 and analyze the samples for MTBE and 1,2-
DCA;
• Annually collect groundwater from EW-2 and analyze the samples for BTEX. MTBE,
ETBE, TAME, TBA, DIPE, 1,2-DCA and EDB;
• Biennially collect groundwater from MW-10 and analyze the samples for MTBE.
Although monitoring wells MW-6 and MW-15 have been destroyed, please include these well
locations on future site maps submitted in reports for this site.
If you have any questions concerning this letter, please contact Vicki McCartney at (209) 468-
9852, or by email at vmccartney(q_)sicehd.com.
Sincerely,
Victoria L.
