Whether oxygen sparging, ozone sparging, or some other method is implemented at this site to
remediate the petroleurn hydrocarbon contamination is dependent on receiving and evaluating
various methods proposed in the feasibility study. This is why the EHD stresses the importance
of receiving this study.
At the recommendation of the CUF, the EHD has reviewed the latest groundwater analytical
results submitted in Groundwater Monitoring Report — Second Quarter 2012, and directs that
the following sampling schedule be implemented, effective immediately:
• Semi-annually collect groundwater from MW-1 and MW-2 and analyze the samples for
total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g); total petroleum
hydrocarbons quantified as diesel (TPH-d); benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total
xylenes (BTEX); tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME) and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA);
• Semi-annually collect groundwater from MW-29 and analyze the samples for TPH-g,
TPH-d, BTEX; methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), TAME and 1,2-DCA;
• Annually collect groundwater from MW-27 and analyze the samples for TPH-g, BTEX
and MTBE;
• Annually collect groundwater from MW-9, MW-11B and MW-28 and analyze the
samples for MTBE;
• Annually collect groundwater from MW-14B and analyze the samples for MTBE and
1,2-DCA;
• Annually collect groundwater from EW-2 and analyze the samples for TPH-g and
BTEX;
Biennially collect groundwater from MW-10 and analyze the samples for MTBE;
• Discontinue collecting depth-to-water, total depth measurements, and sampling MW-3,
MW-4, MW-5, MW-7, MW-8A, MW-8B, MW-11A, MW-12A, MW-12B, MW-13A,
MW-1313, MW-14A, MW-16 through MW-26 and EW-1; and
• Annually collect total depth measurements for MW-1, MW-2, MW-9, MW-10, MW-11 B,
MW-14B, MW-27 through MW-29 and EW2.
