All facility communications or <br /> alarm systems, fire protection equipment, spill control equipment, and decontamination equipment,where required, <br /> shall be tested and maintained as necessary to assure its proper operation in time of emergency. Immediately <br /> empty the secondary containment and begin this practice. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 403 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when adding or removing hazardous <br /> waste. <br /> In the hazardous waste storage area: <br /> -One blue 55 gallon steel drum containing used oil filters was open without a lid. <br /> -Two 1 gallon drain pains containing used oil were open without lids. <br /> All hazardous waste containers shall be closed at all times except when adding or removing waste. Immediately <br /> close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste containers are closed when not adding or removing waste. <br /> This is a repeat violation, Class II. <br /> 601 CCR 66262.34(d)Stored hazardous waste onsite greater than 180 days. <br /> The following containers were observed in the hazardous waste storage area without accumulation start dates: <br /> -One blue 55 gallon steel drum containing used oil <br /> -Two one gallon drain pans containing used oil <br /> -One blue 55 gallon steel drum containing unpunctured/uncrushed oil filters <br /> In the shop area, one red 16 gallon movable drain pan containing used oil did not have an accumulation start date. <br /> Facilities who generate less than 1000 kg of hazardous waste per month and do not exceed 6000 kg of waste <br /> stored on site at any time may store waste on site up to 180 days. Since it cannot be determined how long the <br /> hazardous waste has been on site, immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste <br /> under manifest.
