A hazardous waste generator shall not treat, store, dispose of, <br /> transport or offer for transportation, hazardous waste without a hazardous waste ID number. Go to the DTSC web site <br /> http://www.dtsc.ca.gov/IDManifest/PERMHWID.cfm for the form to reactivate the ID number. Immediately reactivate <br /> your ID number and submit evidence to the EHD. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> 105 CCR 66262.11, 66262.40(c) Failed to determine if a waste is a hazardous waste or retain waste analysis on site for 3 <br /> years. <br /> Metal fines generated from electric grinders are being recycled as scrap metal without first determining particle size or <br /> hazardous properties. Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is a hazardous waste. <br /> Immediately stop recycling metal fines, make a hazardous waste determination for the grinding waste, and manage it <br /> according to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Particles 100 microns or smaller must be handled as hazardous <br /> waste if the metal is determined to be a hazardous waste. Submit a statement and supporting documentation <br /> explaining how this waste was managed. <br /> -Six 55 gallon black steel drums were observed in the north yard without labeling. According to Mr. Marci,these <br /> drums are"contaminated dirt"from a neighboring yard. He stated that they had been brought to the yard for storage <br /> prior to sampling. <br /> -Oily absorbent was observed in trash cans throughout the facility and in the dumpster. <br /> -A 55 gallon black steel drum of unknown liquid was observed in the north yard. <br /> No hazardous waste determination has been made for these wastes. Any person who generates a waste shall <br /> determine if the waste is a hazardous waste. Immediately make a hazardous waste determination for the drums of <br /> dirt, and manage them according the Title 22 hazardous waste regulations.
