A copy of this inspection report is being sent to
you as well as information regarding the empty above ground storage tanks located at this property.
With regards to managing the above ground storage tanks, here are some options:
1. A licensed transporter may haul the tanks for disposal or recycling
2. Certify the tanks clean by an authorized agency. The San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Department does not certify tanks clean, but you may find an authorized professional to
have the tanks cleaned and ensure rinsate is properly disposed of.
3. You may permanently close the tanks according to Code of Federal Regualtions Title 40. The
tanks must have all sludge and liquid removed and all connecting lines and piping must be
disconnected from the container and blanked off, all valves (except for ventilation valves)
closed and locked, and conspicuous signs posted on each container stating that it is a
permanently closed container and the date of closure.
If further clarification is needed do not hesitate to contact me at (209) 468-3562
Christine Lawrence, EHS
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
1868 E.
