The following is an itemized list of hazardous waste violations that have not been <br />addressed for AAA MACHINE as of August08, 2019. <br />Open violations from June 04, 2019 inspection <br />Violation #101 - Managed a hazardous waste without an identification number. <br />This facility does not have a valid ID number to manage hazardous waste. A hazardous waste generator shall not <br />treat, store, dispose of, transport or offer for transportation, hazardous waste without an ID number. If you or your <br />business generates more than 100 kg of RCRA hazardous waste and/or more than one kg of acutely hazardous <br />waste, then you need to obtain an EPA ID number. All others must obtain a State ID number. Go to the DTSC web <br />site https://dtsc.ca.gov/apply-for-hazardous-waste-epa-id-number/ for the form to apply for an ID number. <br />Immediately obtain an ID number to manage hazardous waste and submit evidence to the EHD. <br />Violation #102 - Failed to determine if a waste is a hazardous waste. <br />Observations: Liquid in the parts washer, fine powder in bead blast machine, metal fines in machining equipment, <br />carburetter cleaner solvent in two 5 gallon buckets, pile of oily rags. Any person who generates a waste shall <br />determine if the waste is a hazardous waste. Immediately make a hazardous waste determination for the wastes <br />listed above, and manage according the Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement and supporting <br />documentation explaining how this waste was managed and all disposal records for each waste. <br />Violation #119 - Failed to report program data in the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS). <br />Facility has not reported the business activities in California Environmental Reporting System (CERS). Immediately <br />go to CERS https://cers.calepa.ca.gov/ to create an account and report business activities. <br />Violation #301 - Facility not maintained to minimize the release of a hazardous waste. <br />A car was observed outside the shop with a 3ft by 1ft stain of oil underneath the car. Facilities shall be maintained <br />and operated to minimize the possibility of a fire, explosion, or release of hazardous waste to air, soil, or surface <br />water which could threaten human health or the environment. Immediately clean the spill , and manage according <br />to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this <br />waste was managed. <br />Violation #403 - Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when adding or removing <br />hazardous waste. <br />One open 2 gallon oil drain pan with oil inside and one paper oil filter were observed on site. All hazardous waste <br />containers shall be closed at all times except when adding or removing waste. Immediately close these containers <br />and ensure all hazardous waste containers are closed when not adding or removing waste. <br />Violation #601 - Stored hazardous waste onsite greater than 180 days. <br />Six 5 gallon buckets were observed near the rear door of the shop without hazardous waste labels or accumulation <br />start dates. The owner stated these buckets contained used oil. A paper filter was observed without a label or <br />accumulation start date. Facilities who generate less than 1000 kg of hazardous waste per month and do not <br />exceed 6000 kg of waste stored on site at any time may store waste on site up to 180 days. Immediately contact a <br />licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste under manifest and submit a copy of the manifest to the <br />EHD. <br />Violation #605 - Failed to completely label containers or portable tanks of hazardous waste. <br />Six 5 gallon buckets containing used oil located near the rear shop door did not have hazardous waste labels. A <br />paper oil filter was observed not in a container and without a label. All hazardous waste containers shall be marked <br />with the following information: <br />- the words "Hazardous Waste" <br />- name and address of generator <br />- hazardous properties <br />- physical state <br />- composition (contents) <br />- accumulation start date <br />Immediately label these containers and ensure that all containers are marked with all the required information. <br />Since these containers have been on site longer than 180 days, immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste <br />hauler to dispose of this waste under manifest and submit a copy of the manifest to the EHD. <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
