I-1.5 EVACUATION OF THE EWTF <br /> Communication of emergency evacuation of the EWTF can be made by: <br /> • Phone <br /> • Pager <br /> • Radio <br /> The Facility Manager, alternates, senior LLNL Fire Officer,or Site 300 Manager or designee can <br /> make an evacuation announcement. A detailed description of evacuation planning is provided in <br /> Section 11 of this Contingency Plan. In addition, the WCI Site 300 Self-help Plan provides <br /> instructions for explosives waste Facility personnel. <br /> If a hazard or potential hazard exists at the OB unit, personnel exit the fenced area around the <br /> unit and follow the adjacent access road to the EWTF main access road. Personnel continue <br /> southwest on the main access road to B845 (the assembly point)or leave the EWTF area, <br /> depending on the hazard. <br /> Plans of the Facility showing evacuation routes are included in Figure I-1-3. <br /> I-1.6 EMERGENCY PROCEDURES <br /> Response to an emergency at the EWTF is designed to be at a level appropriate to the incident. <br /> Emergency action is defined based on the event and the potential hazard to onsite personnel and <br /> offsite persons. Most emergencies that would potentially occur at the EWTF would be <br /> designated"large emergencies" and would initiate the implementation of this Contingency Plan. <br /> Established procedures for incident scenarios, including fire, explosion, and release response for <br /> hazardous material and waste, are described in Section 7, "Emergency Control Procedures." In <br /> addition, the Fire Department has developed a series of Facility Event Scenarios and <br /> Consequences and run cards for emergency situations at LLNL Livermore Site and Site 300. <br /> For a major incident requiring Fire Department assistance, call by radio or by dialing extension <br /> 911 from a Site 300 phone. <br /> LLNL Site 300 Contingency Plan 1-1-9 January 2019 <br /> Appendix 1-1.
