PROCEDURES <br /> 21 MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES , <br /> On'26 February 1998, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in <br /> each well relative to the tops of the well casings The ground water elevations and gradient were <br /> determined from these data (Table 1) <br /> IAfter recording water level measurements, a two-stage submersible pump was used to purge each , <br /> monitoring well of standing water A minimum of three well volumes of water were removed from <br /> each well Ground water temperature,pH and conductivity were measured at regular intervals during <br /> purging using an ICM water analyzer Stabilization data and fieid'sheets are included in Appendix <br /> A Purged water was stored on-site in labeled, 55=gallon DOT-approved drums <br /> Y I <br /> J <br /> l <br /> 2 2 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> Water samples were collected from each well using a riew disposable plastic bailer Each water <br /> sample was transferred'into 40-m1 VOA vials and into l-liter amber bottles `IAfter'collection, the <br /> samples were properly labeled,placed in a chilled container and transported under chain-of-custody <br /> to McCampbell Analytical, Inc (MAI) in,Pacheco, California Each sample was analyzed for total - <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline(TPH-g)and diesel (TPH-d) in accordance with EPA <br />' Methods 5030/8015m,for volatile aromatics(benzene,toluene,ethyhbenzene and xylenes;BTE&X) <br /> . with methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE) in accordance with:EPA Method 602 and for volatile <br /> i Advanced GeoEnvironmentai,Inc <br /> 5 <br /> r _ <br />
