I screened intervals in monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-6B, MW-8B, MW-9, MW-11B,
MW-12B and MW 13B comprising the deepenwater data set Groundwater was within the shallow
screened intervals for wells MW-5,,MW-6A,MW-7, MW-8A, MW-10;MW,11A, MW-12A, MW- _
' 13A and EW-1, comprjsing the shallow water data set Ground water was approximately 13 69 feet '
and 12 50 feet above the'screened interval in MW-3 and EW-2,.respectively MW-3 and EW-2 are
screened between the shallow'and deep ground water Figure 3 illustrates the ground water elevations
'y based on the two data sets Ground water flow direction near the former UST cluster was inferred
to be toward the east-northeast using data from wells screened within the upper Interval and toward r
the southeast using data from wells screened within the lower'mterval Groundwater flow direction
' near the former UST No 3 excavation was inferred to be toward the northeast using data from wells
screened within the upper interval and toward the east using data from wells screened within the
lower,interval `
3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF WATER SAMPLES
1
TPH-g was detected in the-samples collected from MW-1, MW-2, MW-10, MW-11B, EW-1 and
'. EW-2 at concentrations as high as 39,000 micrograms per liter(µg/1) TPH-d was detected in MW-1,
MW-2, MW-10, MW-11B, MW-12A, MW-13A, MW-13B and EW-1 at concentrations as high as
60,000 gg/1 BTEX compounds were detected in samples from 6 of the 20 wells at concentrations
' as high as 970 gg/l (benzene), 7,000 gg/1 (toluene),'1,300 gg/1 (ethyl benzene) and 5,300 gg/1
(xylenes)
MTBE was detected in the water samples icollected from MW-9, MW-1'0, MW-11B, MW-12B,
' MW-13A, MW-13B and EW-1 at concentrations ranging from 5 5 gg/1 to 300 gg/l TBA was
detected in water samples from MW-2, MW-6B and MW-11 B at concentrations ranging`from ,
12 gg/l to 20 gg/l EDB was detected in the water sample analyzed from`EW-1 at a concentratioA
of 6 5 ggh `Water samples analyzed from 4W-2, MW-11B and EW-1 contained detectable
concentrations of 1,2 - DCA ranging from 11 gg/1 to 30 gg/1 Analytical results of water samples
collected during the first quarter of 2001 are summarized on Table 2 and 3,'analytical results'from
previous monitoring events are summarized on`Tables 4 and 5 Figures 4 and 5 Illustrate the ground
water contamination plumes in upper and lower groundwater intervals' The laboratory report(MAI T ._
