3 _ <br /> P s <br /> ] l t <br /> J <br /> 16 August 2004 <br /> S AGE-NC Project No 96-0235 <br /> I T <br /> Page 5 of 6 <br /> 3 , <br /> • Monitoring well MW-10 was damaged during the Fourth Quarter 2003-6verexcavation <br />' activities-and was not sampled <br />' Based on the data collected from the former southern UST No 3 area, AGE finds <br /> • The ground water flow direction at the shallow-screened level was inferred to be towards the <br />' w southeast at a gradient of 0 005 ft/ft, ground water flow direction at the deep-screened level <br /> was inferred to be toward the southwest at a gradient of 0 013 ft/ft Ground water gradient <br /> and flow direction observed during the Second Quarter 2004 were similar to the previous <br />' quarter , I <br /> • TPH-g was detected in ,the samples collected from MW-1,h MW-2 and EW-2 at <br />' concentrations of 14,000 µg11, 27,000 �ig/l and 220 µg/l, respectively TPH-d was detected <br /> in the samples collected from MW-1 and MW-2 at concentrations of 1,500 µg/l and <br /> 4,000 µg/l,respectively Various BTEX compounds were detected in the samples collected <br />' from MW-1, MW-2 and EW-2 The detected benzene concentrations in MW-1, MW-2 and <br /> EW-2 exceeded the MCL for drinking water In addition, the toluene concentration detected <br /> • in sample MW-1 and the ethylbenzene concentrations detected in samples MW-1 and MW-2 <br /> exceeded the respective MCLS for drinking water <br /> • MTBE was not detected in any of the ground water samples collected from the former UST <br /> No 3 excavation area However, 1,2-DCA was detected in water samples MW-1,MW-2 and <br /> EW-2 at a concentration exceeding the MCL for drinking water <br />' The vertical extent of the contamination plume, as well as the lateral extent to the south, is <br /> not well defined <br /> 5.0.
