Stoll SN001
PUBLIC NOTICE
Fact Sheet
Pending Case Closure for Leaking Underground Storage Tank Site
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE), on behalf of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department (SJCEHD), invites public comment regarding the intent of the SJCEHD to grant regulatory
closure for a leaking underground storage tank (LUST) case on the Site identified below.
SUBJECT SITE:
Site Name: Sarale Farms GeoTracker Global ID#T0607700601
Site Address: 16500 Clifton Court Road
Stockton, San Joaquin County, California SJCEHD Site Code: 850
PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: 23 August--23 October 2013
CASE SUMMARY:
SJCEHD and the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB), in cooperation with the
property owner, Main Stone Corporation, the responsible party, Ms. Sandi Sarale of Sarale Farms, and
environmental consultant, AGE, have evaluated soil and groundwater conditions, and health concerns at
the subject Site resulting from historical releases of gasoline from an underground storage tank (UST)
system and from fueling operations. The UST system, consisting of one 10,000-gallon UST and
approximately 100 feet of associated piping, was removed from the Site in December 1992.
Soil and groundwater investigations were conducted from 2002 to 2013. Gasoline hydrocarbons were
detected in on-site soil and groundwater. Active remediation of soil and groundwater was not conducted
during this period. In February 2013, a soil vapor investigation was conducted to evaluate the potential
for indoor vapor intrusion into current and future Site buildings. On the basis of groundwater monitoring
and previous and current investigations, the SJCEHD concluded that the Site status is protective of the
environment and of human health for current and future Site use and for adjacent off-site areas.
The SJCEHD submitted a Case Closure Summary to the RWQCB in July 2013. The RWQCB concurred
with the SJCEHD closure recommendation in August 2013. After receipt of notification that all case
closure activities have been completed, the SJCEHD intends to issue a No Further Action Required letter
for the subject Site.
WHERE TO GET MORE INFORMATION
Site information can be obtained from the GeoTracker website at http://geotracker.waterboards.ca.gov/.
Upon written request, the Site case file is available for review at the SJCEHD office located at 1868 East
Hazelton Avenue, Stockton, California 95205.
