PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES
Applicable site assessment permits will be obtained from the (EHD). Prior to mobilization, the
Proposed monitoring well locations will be clearly marked and a utility clearance obtained through
Underground Service Alert. The EHD will be notified 48 hours prior to conducting investigation
activities.
3.2. SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
Soil borings will be advanced to a depth of 19 feet below surface grade (bsg). Soil samples will be
collected from each of the soil borings at a minimum of five-foot intervals. Procedures for
advancement of soil borings and soil sampling are presented in Section 1.1.
Up to two soil samples will be collected from each boring for laboratory analysis. Soil samples for
laboratory analysis will selected based on visual observations of petroleum hydrocarbon impact,
organic vapor meter(OVM) readings, changes in lithology, and/or at the capillary fringe. Select soil
samples will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified
laboratory for the following constituents:
• TPH-g in accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified/503 0; and
• BTEX and fuel oxygenating compounds including MTBE, di-isopropyl ether(DIPE), ethyl
tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE), tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary-butanol (TBA),
1,2-dibromoethane (EDB) and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) by EPA Method 8260B.
Laboratory reports for ground water analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality
control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report
with the findings and recommendations.
3.3. MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION AND DEVELOPMENT
Following completion of each soil boring (Section 4.1), a ground water monitoring well will be
Advanced GeoEuvlronmental,Inc.
