GROUND WATER
Monitoring wells were installed in each'\of the _three borings
dri l l.,=d during this program. F4ctory, =lotted 2 inch PV ': ;_ac- rig
was installed ire each hole. . The slotted cone extended 20 to 25
feet below water table and approximately 5 feet above water
ta.bl E'. Blank: casing was installed above the slotted .-one, to ,
surface. A gravel pack: was installed in each well , using No. 4 !
sand, to 2 to 5 feet above static water leveI. . A bentonite seal '(
from 1 to b feet thick: was then installed, capped by grout to the ?
surface. A lockable christe box was then installed to protect !
the well from tampering. Details of. the well construction for
each well are shown on the logs, in the well graphic column. i4
1
Ground water occurs at ' shallow depths under water table
conditions at this site. Water levels have been measured three
separate times since the wells were installed on 11/5/87. These
measurements show that the ground water table has been rising i
since the wells were installed. Thi=_s is to be expected, since
the winter rainy season had not yet begun when the wells were
installed; but has gotten into full Swing since then.
The shallow water table. is being recharged by the winter
r.1inC: and by increased stream+1ow in streams within the San-
_agUir - Sacramento River Delta System. The Old giver channel.of the San Joaquin River is about 1 . 5 miles north of the site.
The water levels and elevations for each well at the site
are as follows:
i
11/05/87
Well Casing Elev.
