In 1987, the lateral extent of both soil and ground water
contamination was defined, but due to the long wait in implementing cleanup efforts, the
contaminant plume has now spread beyond the most peripheral monitoring wells. Before full-scale
remediation of the site can begin, the complete lateral and vertical extent of the soil and ground
water contamination must be defined.
Therefore, by 1 February 1994, please submit a comprehensive work plan to define the extent of
contamination and implement interim remedial measures. The work plan shall include a schedule of
all proposed activities.
If you have any questions, please call Joel Weiss at (916) 255-3077.
1
WENDY L.
