Mr. Steven Osborn • 3 • 14 November 2007
KMEP Holt Release Site, Holt
• Upgradient wells M-2 and M-3 are removed from the program. KMEP should
continue to sample M-1 because this well provides northeasterly plume definition
and is the only well in this area.
• Deep wells N-21 through N-23 are removed, but KMEP needs to continue
monitoring N-24 due to the concentrations of benzene and TPHg.
• MTBE and TBA are removed from the list of constituents.
• General chemistry analyses associated with the bioremediation pilot study are
removed, but field readings for dissolved oxygen and oxygen reduction potential are
still required in order to provide data to monitor MNA progress.
3. The text of the Work Plan lists the 10 SVE wells as SVE-1 through SVE-10, but the
figures and boring logs identify them as VEW-1 through VEW-10. KMEP should refer
to the wells as VEW-1 through VEW-10 in future reports.
4. Regional Water Board staff concur with the destruction of the 10 SVE wells and deep
wells N-21 through N-23. KMEP should destroy these wells as outlined in the Work
Plan and notify Regional Water Board staff when the wells have been properly
destroyed.
In summary, by 5 December 2007, please review and provide comments on the attached draft
MRP. KMEP should also proceed with the destruction of the 10 SVE wells and deep wells N-
21 through N-23 and notify Regional Water Board staff when completed.
If you have any questions, you may contact me by phone at (916) 464-4819 or email me at
kshelton(awaterboards.ca.gov.
sv
KRISTI SHELTON
Water Resources Control Engineer
Aboveground Tanks Cleanup Unit
cc: Mr. Dennis Kalson, Solano County Department of Environmental Management, Fairfield
Mr. Cleve Solomon, Delta Environmental Consultants, Monrovia
