SECTION 4:YEAR 5 TREE MONITORING RESULTS 1
Similar to previous monitoring years, black willows had the highest mortality rate (6 trees ,
recorded as dead)in this planting area. Additionally, three box elder, two valley oak, and
one Fremont cottonwood were noted as dead in Year 5 (2011) (Appendix A). The willows, ,
box elder, and Fremont cottonwood may still resprout from the root-stock.
The average health and vigor score in this planting sub area in Year 5 (2011)is 1.7. The Year 1
5 (2011) score of 1.7 corresponds to a little more than halfway between"low" and "medium'
ranks. The score of 1.7 is slightly higher than the Year 4 (2010) score of 1.6,but Area D
continues to have the lowest health and vigor score recorded of any of the planting sub 1
areas (Table 4-2).
1
i
1
1
1
1
1
1
1
i
1
i
- 1
4-12 SAC1420307/113570001(YEAR5-2011_HOLTTREE MONITORING_REPORT-FINALDOCX) 1
