Mr. James L.L. Barton • Former Countryside Market
October 19, 2011 Stockton, California
recorded on field forms and provided in the summary report. Development water will be placed
in labeled, DOT-approved 55-gallon drums and stored temporarily on-site pending recycling.
GROUNDWATER MONITORING AND SAMPLING
Approximately one week after installation the monitoring wells will be gauged, purged, and
sampled by SGI. SGI will utilize either low flow groundwater or star dard three casing volume
sampling methodology to collect samples from each well. Water samples will be submitted
under proper chain of custody protocol to a State-certified laboratory for analysis. The samples
will be analyzed for TPHg, BTEX compounds, and 7 fuel oxygenate compounds by EPA Method
8260B.
WELL SURVEY
The monitoring wells will be professionally surveyed per the reqLlirements of the State of
California Water Resource Control Board (AB2886). SGI will mark each location with a unique
location identification (i.e., alpha-numeric identification). A Site bas map will be prepared to
present the exact locations of the monitoring wells and associated pertinent cultural features.
GEOTRACKER
Investigation data including survey data, laboratory analytical results,,field data, boring/well log,
and final reports will be uploaded per Geotracker requirements.
CONTINGENT SITE INVESTIGATION FIELD ACTIVITIES
Contingent Site investigation activities may include the installation of hree additional monitoring
wells located downgradient of the Site. Contingent monitoring well 3 may be installed after a
review of initial Site investigation results (i.e. detections of Petroleum hydrocarbons in
groundwater samples from either domestic wells or monitoring wells) and as necessary to
characterize the lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbons impa t to groundwater. The
contingent well installation work would only proceed after discussions between CRWQCB and
SGI and agreement as to the need for contingent wells. Access agreements from private
property owners will be procured as necessary. Monitoring wells will be installed, constructed,
developed, sampled, and survey similar to the methods described above.
PROJECT REPORTING AND SCHEDULE
Results of the Site investigation (including methodologies used for drilling, data collection, soil
sampling, and waste disposition) will be included in a Site Investigation / Remedial Action Plan
(Report). The Report will include results from Site investigation activities and recommendations
for remedial actions. The Report will be reviewed in its entirety nd signed by a California
Professional Geologist. SGI plans to commence work immediately following the approval of the
Work Plan by CRWQCB. SGI estimates well installation activities ill take approximately six
