,low/
5.0 SOIL SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS
Following the completion of soil removal activities on September 7, 1994,
a visual inspection did not reveal any obvious soil staining in the tank field.
No water was present in the bottom of the excavated area.
Two soil samples (SPW and SPE) were collected from the west and east
ends of the stocktpiled soil respectively. Both samples were preserved in
brass sleeves and transported for analysis to McCampbell Analytical, Inc in
Pachero, CA. using standard chain of custody and quality assurance
practices. However, due to the collapse of the sidewalls of the tank
excavation, no samples were collected beneath the former tank.
The stocktpile of soil excavated from the UST pit was sampled for TPH
(EPA methods modified 8015, and 3550) and BTEX (EPA methods 5030,
modified 8015, and 8020). See appendix D
Stocktpile TPH results are summarized as follows:
ID TPH
SPW 230 ppm
SPE 17 ppm
Stockpile BTEX results are summarized as follows:
ID Benzene Toluene- Ethylbenzene Xylenes
SPW ND ND .016 .047
SPE ND ND ND ND
