■ Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory
July 24, 1991
ega
Ms. Eleanor Ratliff Fn✓✓ '✓% ' ,
San Joaquin County Local Health District %'V,.keA` j9,1
` , n
P.O. Box 2009 j✓,
Stockton, Ca. 95201 ! ,T4( r'
RE: Well Construction Permit Application for Monitor Wells
Adjacent to LLNL Site 300
Dear Ms. Ratliff:
Enclosed is a Well Construction Permit Application for three monitor
wells to be constructed in the southwest corner of Section 24, Township 3
South, Range 4 East. The specific location of each well will be based on the
results of future soil borings, so we cannot at this time give you a specific
location for each well. We do know, however, that they will be in the
southwest corner of Section 24 at approximate locations shown on the
attached map. These wells will be constructed on property owned by Physics
International, with whom Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory was
entered into a Right of Entry Agreement. We are installing these wells at the
request of the California Regional Water Quality Control Board who want us
to investigate the offsite extent of trichloroethylene in shallow ground water.
As is the case for all monitor wells that we install at Site 300 and on adjacent
property, these wells will be installed following all San Joaquin County Local
Health District rules and regulations.
I have enclosed the $105.00 Permit Application Filing Fee for these wells.
As in the past, I would appreciate your sending the approved Permit
Applications to me directly rather than to the drilling contractor.
If there is additional information that you require, please call me at
(415) 422-0757. Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
owt' + ;
Albert L.
