® Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory
March 31, 1989
APR 6 1989
Ms. Diane Hinson
San Joaquin Local Health District
P. O. Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Dear Ms. Hinson:
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory's (LLNL) environmental
restoration work at LLNL Site 300 includes closure of some underground tanks.
Cynthia Wagner has informed us that County policy requires that soil
sampling as part of tank investigations is to be performed by a third party, and
that this is written in an internal San Joaquin Local Health District
memorandum. Compliance with this policy should not be a problem for us
since all of our exploratory drilling, sampling, and well installation is done by
contract drilling and hydrogeology firms. However, to assure our adherence to
all aspects of the County requirements we would like to have a copy of the
written policy statement to retain in our files for future reference. Would you
please send us a copy at your convenience?
Please call Albert Lamarre at (415) 422-0757 or me at (415) 423-3501, if you
have any questions.
Sincerely,
William A.
