The information satisfies our concerns
regarding the proposed disposal in the ponds of contaminated ground water
generated by the testing of extraction well W7-G. The extracted ground water
is to be treated in the associated treatment system before disposal in the ponds.
You have stated that testing should last about three weeks.
As I told Albert Lamarre of your staff by telephone on 30 October 1989, you may
discharge the wastewater to the ponds. As I also discussed with Mr. Lamarre by
telephone on 31 October 1989, you will sample the discharge to the sewage
treatment ponds twice weekly and analyze the samples -for halogenated volatile
organic compounds, including trichloroethylene, using EPA Method 601.
If you have any comments or questions, please call me at (916) 361-5653.
i'11"illej,
I ,
MICHAEL HIGGINV
Area Engineer
MLH:gs
cc: Mr. James T.
