• •
week from time of mobilization. Analyses of the samples will take longer.
The drummed wastes will be stored temporarily in the drum storage facility at
Site 300 until results of the analyses are received and proper disposal can be
arranged.
Concurrent with this request LLNL is pursuing clarification of requirements to
transport these unidentified waste to Site 300. Requirements are being
discussed with staff from DOHS Program Management Section, the California
Highway Patrol , Motor Carrier Safety Section, and the Department of
Transportation, Materials Transportation Bureau.
LLNL is interested in expeditiously resolving the issue of how to dispose of
the containerized unidentified wastes and would therefore appreciate due
consideration of this request for an emergency permit. Should you need any
additional information, please contact Marjorie Gonzalez at (415) 422-1925 or
Judy Steenhoven at (415) 423-8853.
Sincerely,
L.
