Ms. Wendy Cohen
June 26, 1987
Page 2
The vacuum system will also be used as part of the water stripping process. The water
stripping process will yield TCE at about 0.007 lb/hr. This effluent, combined with the
gaseous discharge from the well-venting process, will be vented to the atmosphere.
Based on a schedule of tests running several hours per day over a maximum 10-day period
(2 work weeks), the total TCE discharged to the atmosphere by these tests is expected to
be less than 2 lb. The amount of TCE remaining in the the treated and discharged water
will be less than the drinking water action level (5ppb).
We plan to begin this testing during the second week of July. Please contact Richard
Ragaini (415) 423-8875 or Fred Hoffman (415) 423-6745 if you have any questions
regarding these activities.
Sincerely,
66
R. O.
