30 Site Safety plan
2-,_l Statement 9-f Hazard
LLNL has contracted with OHM to handle and dispose of
various materials located at the LLNL facility in Livermore,
California. The materials are currently located in the toxic
waste control area at this facility. An estimated 300 containers
ranging in size from small vials to one gallon containers are
present. Some of the chemicals to be processed have been
tentatively identified and include corrosives, flammables,
oxidizers, and poisons. Due to the nature of the LLNL facility
there is a possibility that explosives or radioactive materials
may be encountered during operations. The present location of
containers on the facility is in a transportainer at the south
end of the Toxic Waste Control Area.
Laboratory reagent containers in the transportainer will be
sorted into materials which are pyrophoric or explosive and
materials which are to be consolidated into a single waste
stream.
OHN
