Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory
L3
February 8, 1994
Ms. Diane Hinson
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
P.O. Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
RE: Well Construction Permit Applications for Monitor Wells
Adjacent to Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL)
Site 300
Dear Ms. Hinson:
Enclosed is a Well Construction Permit Application for 11 monitor wells to be
constructed adjacent to LLNL Site 300. Four monitor wells are to be constructed in
the southwest corner of Section 25, Township 3 South, Range 4 East and seven
monitor wells will be constructed in the northeast corner of Section 35, Township 3
South, Range 4 East. The approximate locations of these monitor wells are shown
on the attached maps. These wells will be constructed on properties owned by E&J
Gallo Winery and Connolly Ranch, Inc. We are installing these wells to investigate
the lateral extent of trichloroethylene in ground water. As is the case for all
monitor wells that we install at Site 300 and on adjacent property, these wells will
be installed following all San Joaquin County Public Health District rules and
regulations. We will continue to notify you of well drilling so that you may witness
the installation of the sanitary grout seals.
I have enclosed the $89.00 Permit Application Filing Fee for these eleven wells.
As in the past, I would appreciate your sending the approved Permit
Application to me directly rather than to the drilling contractor.
y)90
An Equal Opportunity Employer•Universityof California•PO Box 808 Livermore,California 94550•Telephone(415)422-1100•Twx 910-386-8339 UCLLL LVMR
