(Geomatrix)on behalf of Chevron Pipe Line
Company(CPL). The letter report describes the November 21, 1997 field work performed at the property and
summarizes the analytical results from soil and groundwater samples collected from the property. As per CPL's
October 9, 1997 Letter work plan to you regarding this property, soil and groundwater constituents were analyzed
for the following:
• Soil samples were analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes(BTEX),polyaromatic
hydrocarbons(PAHs),and total extractable petroleum hydrocarbons(TEPH)quantified against crude oil.
• Groundwater samples were analyzed for BTEX,PAHs,total purgeable petroleum hydrocarbons(TPPH)
quantified against gasoline,TEPH quantified against diesel, and methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE).
The specified laboratory methods used to analyze the aforementioned constituents are discussed in Geomatrix's
As summarized in the attached report, soil and groundwater samples were non-detect for all constituents analyzed.
Based on my understanding of your October 1, 1997 meeting with Elizabeth Lu, representing CPL,the site meets
Public Health Services-Environmental Health Division's(PHS-EHD)requirements for closure;therefore, CPL
requests that the site be closed and removed from PHS-EHD's"Contaminated Site List".
If you have any questions or require additional information, please call Elizabeth Lu at(510/842-6855).
Sincerely, j
K.L.
